Refund Policy Guidelines
Structured, fair, and escrow-governed refund review.
GigBig evaluates refunds case-by-case using milestone status, scope compliance, and documented activity. Refunds are not automatic and follow evidence-based governance.
When a refund may be considered
- Work has not started and funds are in escrow
- Deliverables do not align with approved scope
- Freelancer is unavailable before execution
- Dispute decision supports refund eligibility
- Project is canceled before milestone execution
When refunds are not applicable
- Milestone was formally approved
- Deliverables align with documented scope
- Revision opportunities were provided but unused
- Scope was expanded informally without documentation
- Payment was already released after approval
Approved milestones finalize financial settlement.
Refunds in Single Service
- If work has not started, refund may be possible
- If partially completed, partial refund may apply by progress
- If milestone is approved, refund is typically not applicable
Scope documentation guides decisions.
Refunds in Team Service
- If package has not started, refund review may apply
- Used package duration may trigger proportional evaluation
- Approved package milestones are non-refundable
Package utilization is assessed carefully.
Refund review process
- Scope verification
- Milestone status check
- Communication log review
- Revision history analysis
- Timeline assessment
- Escrow status confirmation
All decisions are evidence-based.
Escrow protection during review
- Funds remain secured in escrow
- No automatic payment release
- No instant refund without review
Financial safety is maintained until resolution.
Partial refunds
- May apply when only part of work is completed
- May apply if deliverables are partially usable
- Must be supported by dispute outcome
Partial adjustments follow documented calculation.
Why structured refund guidelines matter
- Financial transparency
- Reduced misuse of approval system
- Fair compensation for completed work
- Protection from arbitrary refund demands
- Balanced accountability
What refund policy does not guarantee
- No guaranteed refund after approval
- No override of scope compliance
- No cancellation after successful delivery without review
- No automatic payment reversal
All requests follow structured governance.
